HISTORY

Early Years (1952-1975)
Anand Bhavani returned to India after he resigned his job and started a trading company from small 500 sq ft. offfice in Mumbai but dreamt of establishing largest company in India.Years later, he decided to expand his business to textile industry and started an appareal brand name Texile. The brand became very successful in India, Anand Bhavani went on to create massive business empire. He started to expand more business industry such as petroleum, petrochemical, power, steel, and automotive. He began to conquer the busiest trading points in Gujarat by establishing some ports and terminals.

The Growth (1976-1999)
In 1977, Bhavani Industries Limited's IPO creates history by introducing the equity cult in India. The issue is oversubscribed seven times, strengthening BIL’s growth ambitions. BIL becoming the world’s largest integrated producer of polyester. In 1980, Anand Bhavani started his own aviation business, which offers international routes for Indian people, named Falcon Airways. In 1995, BIL opened its retail business to serve the society for their needs. In 1997, BIL became the largest oil exporter in India with the Jamnagar petrochemicals and integrated refinery complex as the biggest refinery in the world.

Revolution of Telecommunication (2000-2002)
During early 2000, the mobile call rate in India was really high. BIL has played major role in transforming India's telecom industry by offering free incoming call and cheap call rates, turning BIL into a pioneer and the leader of Indian telecommunication industry until now.

Global Expansions and Innovation Leading (2004-now)
In 2004, BIL emerges as the first and only private Indian organisation to be listed in the Fortune Global 500 list for the first time. Bhavani Retail becomes the largest retailer by revenue in 2014, fulfilling the aspirations of millions across the country and bringing international experiences at affordable prices to every corner of India. BIL, through BVN Platforms continues to lead the innovation by providing wireless broadband 4G services, promising to bridge the digital divide.
